Geometric medians in reconciliation spaces
In evolutionary biology, it is common to study how various entities evolve together, for example, how parasites coevolve with their host, or genes with their species. Coevolution is commonly modelled by considering certain maps or reconciliations from one evolutionary tree P to another H, all of which induce the same map φ between the leaf-sets of P and H (corresponding to present-day associati...
متن کاملSignificance of Semantic Reconciliation in Digital Forensics
Digital forensics (DF) is a growing field that is gaining popularity among many computer professionals, law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders who must always cooperate in this profession. Unfortunately, this has created an environment replete with semantic disparities within the domain that needs to be resolved and/or eliminated. For the purpose of this study, semantic disparity refer...
متن کاملHomotopy in Digital Spaces
The main contribution of this paper is a new “extrinsic” digital fundamental group that can be readily generalized to define higher homotopy groups for arbitrary digital spaces. We show that the digital fundamental group of a digital object is naturally isomorphic to the fundamental group of its continuous analogue. In addition, we state a digital version of the Seifert–Van Kampen theorem.
